Many operators do not want diesel generator sets to work at working speed, and think the low generator set speed causes no failure. In fact, too low speed will bring some adverse consequences as follows:
1) Too low speed will reduce the output power of diesel engines, and reduce its power performance;
2) Too low speed will lead to the decline in the working speed of various parts, deteriorate the performance of some parts, and reduce the output pressure of oil pump;
3) The diesel engine reserve power will be reduced, making the diesel engine in normal operation at full load or overload working conditions;
4) Too low speed will reduce the mechanical performance of machine working, such as reducing the water volume from water pump, etc.
There are two types of speeds for normal generator sets: 1500 rpm and 1800 rpm. It is wrong to deliberately turn down or raise the speed.
