How to Clean Diesel Generator Spare Parts

In the diesel generator set repair, it is often a need to clean the oil, coke, scale and rust in the surface of spare parts and so on. Due to the different nature of the various dirt, the removal method is not the same.
(1) Oil stain cleaning
The oil stain should be scraped when deposits thickly in the surface of parts. Generally surface oil stain should be cleaned in the hot cleaning fluid, commonly used cleaning fluid has alkaline cleaning fluid and synthetic detergent. When using alkaline cleaning solution for hot cleaning, it should be heated to 70 ~ 90 Celsius, parts need be immersed in 10 ~ 15 mins, and then remove and rinse with water, and then make it dry.
Note: using gasoline cleaning is not safe; aluminum parts can not be washed in strong alkaline cleaning solution; alcohol or brake fluid should be used non-metallic rubber parts for cleaning.
(2) Coke removal
Removal of coke can be done by a simple mechanical removal method. Coke can be removed with a metal brush or scraper, etc, but this method is not easy to remove the carbon deposition, and easy to damage the surface parts. It is best to use chemical removal of carbon deposition, first carbides (chemical solution) is heated to 80 ~ 90 Celsius, the coke in the parts will be softened, and then use the brush and so on to clear.
(3) Scale clearance
Chemical removal method is generally used for scale, the chemical solution added to the coolant, the engine work for some time, then replace the coolant. Commonly used chemical solutions to remove the scale are: caustic soda solution or hydrochloric acid solution, fluoride sodium hydrochloric acid detergents and phosphate detergents, phosphoric acid cleaning agent suitable for the removal of the scale on aluminum alloy parts.
