Differences Beteween Mechanical and Electronic Governor

1. After the start of the alternator, the speed regulation is needed to achieve a stable rated speed, so that the stability of the output voltage and frequency can be maintained.
2. Mechanical governor needs no power, only electronic governor needs power.
3. According to SOLAS requirements, if emergency generator is equipped with electronic governor, a separate battery set is needed for the electronic governor, and the battery is different from the emergency generator start battery. So the emergency generator of electronic speed should be equipped with two sets of batteries.
4. Electronic speed regulation can be done without wear and tear, and mechanical governor maintenance is simple and reliable.
5. For electronic governor, when the diesel engine starts, it is fixed speed, it can automatically adjust the throttle according to the size of the load, and fuel consumption will be based on the size of the load, so its fuel consumption is not very high. But for mechanical governor, it has fixed throttle, so it is easy to waste fuel, so the fuel consumption is higher than that of electronic governor.
